Get ready for a slow down as construction begins in earnest for 12th Street in Sioux Falls. In fact city engineers recommend adding fifteen minutes to your commute.

This continues the restoration of this highly traveled route in Sioux Falls that began last year from I-29 to Kiwanis. For 2015 just from Kiwanis to Western will be repaired.

Traffic patterns will even be modified to accommodate rush hour traffic. During the morning, eastbound traffic will have two lanes to run while in the evening, westbound traffic will get to navigate on two lanes.

Repairing concrete and sewer will be the main thrust of this project. By September of 2015 all the orange cones will be gone.

You can get a feel for the project in the accompanying video. A calm before the storm if you please.
