Ray Wylie Hubbard was inducted into the Texas Heritage Songwriters' Hall of Fame on Saturday night (Feb. 24), and he brought one very special guest with him: Eric Church. Together, the two performed three songs; readers can see snippets of their performances in this story.

In celebration of Hubbard's induction, he and Church -- who name-checks Hubbard in his song "Mr. Misunderstood" -- performed "Tell The Devil I’m Getting There as Fast as I Can," the title track of Hubbard's 2017 studio album. The recorded version of the song features Church and Lucinda Williams; video of Church and Hubbard's Saturday night performance is above.

Church and Hubbard also performed "Screw You, We're From Texas," which originally appeared on Hubbard's 2003 album Growl. Hubbard and Church first sang the song together in February of 2017, during Church's Holdin' My Own Tour stop at Dallas, Texas' American Airlines Center; a recording of that version appears on Church's 61 Days in Church live release.

Ronnie Dunn, who hosted the 2018 Texas Heritage Songwriters' Hall of Fame induction ceremony, joined Hubbard and Church for "Snake Farm," the title track of Hubbard's 2006 album; video of their performance is below. According to Austin360.com, Hubbard's set also featured a performance of "Drunken Poet's Dream" with Hayes Carll.

Texas Heritage Songwriters' Assocation is an organization "dedicated to the cultural preservation of Texas songwriting and celebration of our exalted troubadours." Their 2018 Hall of Fame class also included Buddy Holly, Mickey Newbury and Liz Rose. The induction ceremony, which took place at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas, also included performances by Rodney Crowell, Maren Morris and more.
