(AP) - Country Music Hall of Fame member Ray Price has been remembered as both a musical innovator and a gentleman.

Hundreds of people packed the service in Mount Pleasant, Texas - a town where Price had lived for 31 years. During the Saturday ceremony, a statement from Willie Nelson was read. In the statement, Nelson wrote: "Without a Ray Price, there wouldn't have been a Willie Nelson."

Price died from pancreatic cancer a week ago. He was 87 years old. A funeral is set for December 28 in Dallas.
