Raptors 905 Break Away in Win over Sioux Falls Skyforce

A fourth quarter spike in point production propelled Raptors 905 Friday night, leading to a victory over the Sioux Falls Skyforce 101-81 at Hershey Centre.

For the 905 (8-2), the benefits were twofold. First would be validation for the first month of the season as they sit atop the Central Division after their first ten games. Second is breaking through for their first win over Sioux Falls (8-3) in franchise history after coming up empty in five games a season ago.

One point separated the two teams heading into the final quarter with the game still within reach after a 3-point bomb by Skyforce guard Ike Nwamu with 3:13 left to make the score 87-81. Sioux Falls would score no more as the final 14 points of the contest belonged to the gang from across the border.

Former Denver Nugget Axel Toupane came off the bench to lead the 905 with 22 points and gunslinger Brady Heslip ended with 18 counters. Only two Skyforce players scored in double figures led by Keith Benson (19 points, 13 rebounds and 6 blocks) and Okaro White (18 points, 15 rebounds).

After winning three of four on the road trip, Sioux Falls is back on the court Sunday to meet the Salt Lake City Stars at the Sanford Pentagon. Raptors 905 will wait a little longer to get back on the court when they host the Oklahoma City Blue on Thursday.
