RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — A Rapid City woman accused of defrauding the federal government has pleaded not guilty.

Thirty-five-year-old Melissa Dale is accused of receiving treatment at an Indian Health Service facility in Rapid City last September after registering under a false name and false Social Security number.

Dale was indicted on a charge of Social Security fraud. U.S. Attorney Randolph Seiler says her trial is scheduled to begin July 5. She could face up to five years in prison if convicted, along with a $250,000 fine and restitution.

Dale also goes by the name Melissa White Bull.
