Rapid City Slaying Suspect Extradited from Colorado

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — The suspect in a fatal shooting in Rapid City has been extradited from Colorado and awaits a July 12 court hearing.

Thirty-three-year-old Mark Heinen is accused of shooting 23-year-old Kiawe Walker during a drug deal on June 17.

Heinen was apprehended six days later in Thornton, Colorado. The Rapid City Journal reports that he has been transferred to the Pennington County Jail.

Heinen did not enter a plea during a Tuesday court hearing. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
