Rapid City Police Say Death of Man Appears to Be Homicide

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — Authorities in Rapid City say a 56-year-old man has died in what appears to a violent assault.

Officers responded to a parking lot near the intersection of East Boulevard North and East Philadelphia Street shortly before 3 a.m. Thursday and found dead man lying in a pool of blood. The man has been identified Edward Lowry, of Rapid City.

Police Capt. James Johns says police are still early in the process but notes that it's "very clearly" a homicide investigation.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact police.
