SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A proposed ordinance in Sioux Falls would make it illegal to feed deer within city limits.

City officials are hearing complaints about a growing deer population in the southeastern part of the city. Police are considering whether to have trained officers kill some of them.

The city the past three years has held an archery season for deer in some areas. The hunt will take place again this year, from October through December.

The Argus Leader newspaper reports that the City Council is to discuss the no-feeding proposal on Tuesday.
