Sioux Falls Police say a man died from a self inflicted gunshot in his truck on October 9, 2016, but investigators don't believe it was a suicide.

"Officers found a man that had been shot in the shoulder. He died from those injuries. Through the investigation we were able to figure out that he was the one who shot himself. It was a self inflicted gunshot wound," said Sioux Falls Police Spokesman Sam Clemens.

"But, we don't believe he had any intentions of killing himself. It ended up being an accidental death. This one was a little bit unusual. But, we wanted to make sure everything was checked thoroughly. One of the last things we had to wait for was to confirm the person that owned the gun. He was the owner of the gun."

Clemens identified the man as 19-year-old Dylan Widmann of Sioux Falls.
