SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Authorities are seeking a 33-year-old man suspected of stabbing his girlfriend's male roommate over the weekend in Sioux Falls.

Police were called Saturday morning to Kings Casino, where a 34-year-old man had fled after being stabbed during an altercation in a nearby apartment building. The victim was taken to a hospital to receive treatment for multiple stab wounds to his neck. The Argus Leader reports the victim remains in critical condition.

Police spokesman Sam Clemens says the victim shared an apartment with the suspect's girlfriend. He says the victim's girlfriend told police the four of them were in the apartment when the suspect walked up to the victim and began stabbing him in the neck.

It's unclear what caused the altercation, but the men had reportedly been drinking.
