Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says a man is in deep trouble following an incident at the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Sioux Falls.

"We had a man that came out of the river and I'm not sure what he was doing in the river. He walked over to the Hilton Garden Inn. He used a smoking receptacle and broke a window," explains Clemens.

"Once inside the hotel, he went up to the second floor, pulled a fire alarm. As people left one of the rooms, he went in. Once inside, he completely trashed it. He broke the sink, television, furniture inside and broke the window outside and started throwing items out. The fire department came. When they saw what was happening, police were called. As police were trying to get into the room, this man jumped out of the second floor."

Once on the ground, a fight ensued!

"The officers ended up using a taser to subdue him. Once handcuffed, he was still fighting with the officers. He was taken to the hospital to get checked out from his leap."

Clemens says an arrest has not yet been made because the 29-year-old transient is being treated in a Sioux Falls hospital.
