During Thursday's police briefing in the Law Enforcement Center, Sioux Falls Police Officer Sam Clemens says a mob attacked a man Wednesday evening.

"We had a 45-year-old man that found his son was smoking marijuana with some friends. That's really what started this whole thing. The father kicked out the son's friends," explained Clemens.

"When he went to move a car, the friends came back with a lot more people. We had about 20 to 30 people that showed up with bats and clubs. They were trying to attack the dad. As he was trying to move the car, they began breaking out windows in the car and damaging the vehicle. He ended up driving away and hit one of the people as well as a car. We know who some of the people involved were, but there is a lot we don't know."

Clemens says the man was not injured but the car he was driving suffered damage.

In another incident, Clemens says a heated argument between two teens resulted in an arrest.

"We're not really sure what led up to the argument. But, a 16-year-old ended up coming out of his house with a baseball bat. Things seemed to calm down after that. Then a 15-year-old went to his car and grabbed what everybody thought was a gun. He was stopped a couple blocks away. Officers found out it was a air soft BB gun. But he was still arrested for aggravated assault."

The teen is being held in the Juvenile Detention Center.
