Police Arrest 1, Search for Another in Sioux Falls Stabbing
Sioux Falls police say a second person is still being sought in connection with a non-fatal stabbing late last week in the 400 block of North Prairie Avenue.
Lieutenant Dave McIntire says one suspect, 24-year-old Derek Jordan Arapahoe, was arrested shortly after the incident on Friday afternoon.
Arapahoe and another man are alleged to have surprised the 21-year-old victim and attacked him with large knives, similar to machetes, as he arrived at the home of his girlfriend:
McIntire says the other person being sought is a person of interest and, in his words, "it's very possible they could become a suspect." He says police have the name of the person they are looking for, but he has not been located.
The victim's injuries were not life-threatening, but McIntire says they could have been, again quoting, "much, much worse."
