Who has never enjoyed a good old fashioned hotdish? A staple in millions of American households, the hotdish is nirvana in so many ways.  Literally!

They proved it this week in the nations capitol.  Sen. Al Franken held his 5th Annual Casserole Bake-Off.  But if you live in the upper plains, Hotdish-off.  It's Franken's way to blend bipartisanship and Minnesota traditions.

Minnesota's Democratic Rep. Betty McCollum pulled out the win this year with a turkey and wild rice dish covered in sweet potato Tater Tots.  And it didn't even have a can of creamed soup in the recipe.

Anyone grow up with Spam Hotdish?
