The Grand Opening has been set for the Siouxland Libraries' newest branch.

The opening ceremony for the Prairie View Branch Library at West 26th Street and South Discovery Avenue, in western Sioux Falls, will be held at 11:30am on Tuesday, August 6.

Branch Librarian Krystal Pederson says Prairie View has a collection of 30,000 books, DVDs, CDs and magazines.

It also features public meeting rooms, a drive-through materials return and automated material handling.

Pederson says the new branch is a perfect addition to Discovery Elementary School and Memorial Middle School.

The opening on August 6 will start with a concert by Phil Baker at 10:30am between the library and Discovery Elementary, and the ribbon-cutting for the Prairie View Branch Library begins at 11:30 a.m.
