One victim, a woman, was discovered in the unit where authorities think the fire began. According to Sideras the woman reportedly ran back into the unit at some point. The second victim was found in the same unit and has been identified as a child, approximately 5-years-old. Three other children were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

"There is significant damage to the apartment," Sideras told the Argus Leader. "It is going to take a little bit of work to go through that."

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
