I remember those exiting nights as a young boy, running thru the neighborhood, getting as much candy as time would allow. Knowing that this was a once a year opportunity.

I knew at the time that it was a special day in my life. But it wasn't until later in life as an adult, that I would come to know how special it really was.

Oh' if one could only go back in time just once! Well, we all know that's not possible, but if you have a child to enjoy it with, you can relive it all.

This year my son will climb into his panda suit that dad special ordered for him, and we will go out on our door to door adventure. Because of the unknown, Halloween is the one of the most captivating holidays, often celebrated by both adults and children.

The element of surprise makes it fun and unpredictable. Enlighten yourself with Halloween trivia and fun facts to enjoy the holiday even more.

  • Pumpkins also come in white, blue and green. Great for unique monster carvings!
  • Halloween was brought to North America by immigrants from Europe who would celebrate the harvest around a bonfire, share ghost stories, sing, dance and tell fortunes.
  • Tootsie Rolls were the first wrapped penny candy in America.
  • The ancient Celts thought that spirits and ghosts roamed the countryside on Halloween night. They began wearing masks and costumes to avoid being recognized as human.

Before I wrap up this story, I must confess. I can't relive Halloween without eating some of the candy. It's the best way to prevent my son from eating too many sweets, dad will take care of some.
