Last week on Viewpoint University, I pleaded with students not to discard their Christmas trees in the ditches of Lincoln County, my home county.

I guess I should have been more specific.

I should have added, "and don't dump them in the middle of the road either."

So, while driving to work Monday afternoon, I'm greeted by a Christmas tree in the middle of south Louise Ave. between Lincoln County 110 and 106. Had it been night, there's a good chance I would have run into it or someone else would have.

How do you not realize a big, stinking Tannenbaum has fallen out of your trunk, truck bed or trailer on the way to the dropoff site?

To the person missing their tree, I wish you a belated merry freaking Christmas. And next time, pay attention!
