A not-so-funny thing happened in the hours leading up to the 2015 Presidents Cup - it almost didn't happen.

A day before the event was scheduled to start in South Korea, the International team announced they planned to boycott the event, if the number of matches weren't reduced from 34 to 28.

PGA Chairman Tim Finchem, came up with a compromise solution of 30 matches, and, without consulting the American team, changed the format.

Team USA still won the event 15 1/2 to 14 1/2, thanks to a Bill Haas putt on the final hole of the final match in Incheon City.
