MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) — Dakota Wesleyan University is inaugurating the institution's 20th president on Friday.

Amy Novak will be sworn in at 11 a.m. during the 100th anniversary of the Mitchell school's Blue & White Days.

Novak, who has served as provost and executive vice president, says Dakota Wesleyan has been her home for 10 years and there's no place she'd rather be to embark on her next career step.

The South Dakota native has a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Notre Dame and a master's degree in economics from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.

Novak is currently working toward a doctoral degree in interdisciplinary leadership at Creighton University in Omaha.
