A water main break forced the City of Sioux Falls Public Works department to issue an order to boil water on Wednesday. The all clear was given on Thursday.

South Solberg Avenue was ground zero for the rupture. The order was in place for approximately eighteen hours and affected an area bounded by I-29 and South Louise Avenue and between 49th Street and West 57th Street.

The test results for bacteria on all the water samples taken in the main break area were negative. As a reminder if an order to boil water is issued, the proper method is to bring water to a rolling boil for a minimum of three minutes prior to drinking.
