YANKTON, S.D. (AP) — Yankton County's lead prosecutor says no charges will be filed in a hit-and-run incident in May that killed a man from the city of Yankton.

The body of 23-year-old Joseph Jackson was found on a highway east of Yankton. Authorities later used DNA evidence to link a car to the death.

State's Attorney Rob Klimisch told the Yankton Daily Press & Dakotan on Wednesday (http://bit.ly/1eHfIHx) that an investigation has concluded that Jackson was lying in the middle of the road when he was struck, and the vehicle that hit him was not speeding.

Authorities are not releasing the name of the driver.
