Ask anyone who's overweight (LIKE ME) and they'll tell you how hard it is to lose weight. And according to a new study on the subject, it's even harder than you think - almost to the point of being impossible for some.

According to a study done by researchers at King's College in London, the chances of obese men trimming down to normal weight are just one in 210 - and only one in 124 for women.

And the higher your body mass index, the harder it gets. For those with a body mass index over 40, the odds of dropping pounds jumps up to one in 1290 for men and one in 677 for women.

Researchers say when that's the case, the traditional diet and exercise approach may not be the most effective way to drop the pounds. Once a person reaches that point, a form of weight loss surgery may be your best option.
