Yet another scam has surfaced.  Authorities are calling this one the "jury duty scam."

How it works is a guy calls you up, pretending to be a law enforcement officer, and claiming there's a warrant out for your arrest because you didn't show up for jury duty.  He then goes on to tell you that he can "take care of things" if you simply agree to pay a fine.

You might remember a similar scam turned up earlier this year, when crooks were making calls claiming people owed back taxes to the IRS.

Authorities remind you, if the IRS or the court systems needs to contact you - you'll get a letter in the mail.
