New Name For YWCA

YWCA Sioux Falls, which has served the community for 91 years, has a new name.  CEO Laurie Knutson and the board of directors announced on Tuesday that their disaffiliation with YWCA USA is complete and the organization's new name is "EmBe" with a tagline "Empowering to Be."

Knutson commented "Empower" is a word that is engraved in the history of the organization.  "For years we have been influencing the lives of women and providing opportunities through our programs and services.  Therefore, it is appropriate that in our efforts to re-introduce ourselves, we would highlight this concept.  When we align it with the word 'Be,' the concept further comes to life.
