New Emergency Vehicles Hitting Sioux Falls Streets
Big Sioux PowerSports Inc., a factory-authorized CanAm dealership, is leasing a two-seat CanAm Commander side-by-side to Sioux Falls Fire Rescue for $1 per year and a CanAm Outlander ATV 650 to the Sioux Falls Police Department for $1 per year.
Brothers Jim and Lonnie Entenman and Jim’s sons, Jimmy and Joe, own J&L Harley Davidson and Big Sioux PowerSports. Since 1998, the Entenmans have provided the Sioux Falls Police Department the opportunity to lease Harley Davidson motorcycles as part of their Sioux Falls Community Involvement Program. The City currently owns six Harley Davidson motorcycles and leases a seventh motorcycle for $1 per year.
“The Entenman family and the staff of J&L Harley Davidson and Big Sioux PowerSports are proud to be able to expand our Sioux Falls Community Involvement Program by providing quality products to be used by the Sioux Falls Police Department and Sioux Falls Fire Rescue,” says Jim Entenman.
The new vehicles will be utilized in parks and during events in which using larger, traditional emergency vehicles is not always possible.
“The Entenmans and J&L Harley Davidson have been great community partners for many years, and their generosity continues with this new addition to our fleet,” says Sioux Falls Police Chief Doug Barthel. “It’s obvious that public safety is a top priority for them, and the use of these CanAm vehicles will benefit not only our departments, but also the community as well.”
“Many times a year Sioux Falls Fire Rescue has opportunities to serve the community during events in which this new piece of equipment will really be beneficial,” says Chief Jim Sideras. “Whether we’re providing emergency medical services in a park or available during large downtown events, we’ll be even more prepared to go wherever it is we need to go.”
