SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Construction is nearly complete on a new $12.2 million elementary school in Sioux Falls.

The Argus Leader reports the Susan B. Anthony Elementary School is set to open in the fall. Jeff Kreiter with the Sioux Falls School District says desks and chairs will be moved into classrooms this month, and that teachers will be able to work in the building starting in mid-June.

The two-story building will have 28 classrooms, with skylights and windows putting a focus on natural light.

The school will bring together students from Longfellow and Mark Twain elementary schools. Longfellow is being transferred to a nonprofit supporting people with disabilities, while Kreiter says Mark Twain will be demolished as soon as this month.
