The Nebraska Cornhuskers lost another member of the defense after coach Bo Pelini announced Saturday that Nebraska middle linebacker Michael Rose will undergo knee surgery next week.

Pelini said that Rose's injury occurred during a non-contact drill during Friday's practice.

This is the third key member of the Nebraska defense that is ruled out for the season in just three days.

In a season that many Cornhusker fans feel could be a make or break season for Pelini, the defensive minded coach will have to put together one of this greatest efforts in order to make up for the lack of depth.

On Thursday, Pelini announced that nickel back Charles Jackson was lost due to a knee injury and on Friday the school announced  that safety LeRoy Alexander was suspended for the entire 2014 season.
