An eight-hour saturation patrol in Sioux Falls on Saturday resulted in close to 250 citations written by police.

Lieutenant Jerome Miller says officers worked in 57 of the more than 100 complaint zones around the city, targeting speeders and red-light violations.

Miller says the officers wrote a total of 248 citations, including 125 for speeding, four red-light violations and four stop sign violations, 15 for a suspended or revoked license, 47 for no proof of insurance and 26 warning tickets.

Miller says officers also wrote eight seat belt citations and made one narcotics arrest.

He says 16 additional officers worked from 8am until 4pm as part of the saturation patrol on Saturday.
