National Signing Day is here and over 20 athletes from Sioux Falls and the surrounding area have made their college decision. Most of them are staying near home!

So far eight players from a combination of Sioux Falls, Harrisburg, and Class 11AA are on their way to play Division I football. Matt Farniok from Washington is heading to the biggest school in Nebraska. The University of South Dakota picked up great athletes including Brevin Kaiser (Pierre), Jack Perry (O'Gorman), Dodi Makwinja (O'Gorman), and Ethan Roth (Harrisburg). South Dakota State has had a good signing day as well with Hunter Hanley (West Central), Preston Tetzlaff (Brookings), Zach Strand (Pierre), and Kanin Nelson (Mitchell) all deciding to become Jackrabbits.

Augustana University and the University of Sioux Falls both were, as expected, able to scoop up a majority of the talent from Sioux Falls. In total 12 athletes have committed to playing at either school. Minnesota State Mankato, Wayne State, and Northern State were also able to secure athletes from the area to play Division II football within the NSIC.

In NAIA, Dakota Wesleyan received signatures from six from around the area. Northwestern College in Iowa picked up Roosevelt's Sean Powell and Tanner Mahachek.

Here's a continued, running list from National Signing Day. This will be updated as more are announced.
