My First Bike
As the temperatures consistently range in the freezing zone every morning and it’s a big deal if the weather forecasts upper fifties for the afternoon, it’s quite clear that the fun of summer has come and gone.
It’s now time to look back and evaluate what we did manage to do in that short but special time of the year. The list of things we failed to get done won’t bother me.
My wife taught me that there’s next year. I’m good with that and I’ve put my list away until next spring.
I will just sit back and savor what all we got done. And we actually did have a very productive year.
But the one who had the biggest summer of all was my son. He experienced something that will stick with him for the rest of his life.
He will always remember the summer of 2013. That was the year he got his first bike.
You and I can still see our first bike can’t we? That is definitely one of life’s milestones.
Life is a journey. Some of the most memorable times in my life were the journeys I took on my bike. Included was the transition from training wheels to Band Aids.
