Mountain Lion Photographed at Night Near Oahe Dam

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — A trail camera has confirmed a report of a mountain lion near Oahe Dam north of Pierre.

The state Game, Fish and Parks Department says the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers camera photographed the big cat passing through an undeveloped natural area below the Missouri River dam.

The mountain lion was photographed at night and has not been aggressive or judged to be a threat to public safety.

The agency says policy is to kill lions only if they show aggressive behavior toward humans or attack livestock or pets.
