YANKTON, S.D. (AP) — A judge has ordered more in-depth testing for a Yankton man accused of trying to kill his girlfriend.

Curtis Wilson allegedly assaulted his girlfriend in April, then fired a rifle into a neighbor's home when the woman fled there for safety. The neighbor was treated for minor injuries from flying debris.

Wilson has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder, kidnapping and assault charges. The Yankton Daily Press & Dakotan reports (http://bit.ly/1bIIJl6) that a judge has agreed to a defense request that Wilson undergo psychological testing, after a psychiatrist concluded that Wilson might be suffering from a psychotic disorder.

Judge Glen Eng set the next hearing in the case for Dec. 16.
