Philip Rivers passed for 237 yards and a touchdown, and Nick Novak kicked four field goals as the Chargers beat the Indianapolis Colts, 19-9, in San Diego on Monday night. With the win, San Diego (3-3) moved ahead of Oakland into third place in the AFC West behind undefeated Denver and Kansas City.

After falling behind 3-0 in the first quarter, the Chargers pulled ahead to stay when Rivers connected with Keenan Allen on a 22-yard scoring strike early in the second quarter. The teams later exchanged field goals to give San Diego a 10-6 halftime lead.

Rivers continued to move the Chargers offense downfield in the second half, setting up Novak for three more field goals. Allen caught nine passes for 107 yards and a touchdown, while teammate Ryan Mathews carried 22 times for 102 yards.

The Colts had their final drive snuffed out when Derek Cox intercepted Andrew Luck near midfield with 1:07 to play. Luck finished with 202 yards for Indianapolis (4-2).
