SISSETON, S.D. (AP) — State and local authorities are investigating a shooting in the northeastern South Dakota city of Sisseton.

Attorney General Marty Jackley says in a statement that a 21-year-old man from Breckenridge, Minn., was arrested on an attempted murder charge Tuesday afternoon.

Jackley didn't immediately release details, saying only that a weapon discharged and resulted in a person being flown to a hospital.

The case is being investigated by Sisseton police, the Roberts County Sheriff's Office and the state Division of Criminal Investigation.
