Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred is doing what he can to pick up the pace of play and add more action to the game.

According to Jayson Stark of ESPN, MLB's competition committee has approved two different rule changes for 2017. The strike zone would be altered on the low side from the kneecap to above the knee, and that an intentional walk can occur without having to throw four pitches.

These changes are not 100% confirmed for 2017 at this moment. Stark mentions that baseball's playing rules committee must also approve the changes before they can be implemented.
