It's not often the state of South Dakota, and the city of Mitchell in particular, gets mentioned in the same story as a NASCAR Sprint Cup star.

But according to the Associated Press, a Mitchell Company isn't happy with racer Clint Bowyer.

(AP) - Star NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer is asking a judge in South Dakota to throw out a lawsuit filed against him by a motorcycle company.

Klock Werks Kustom Cycles in Mitchell alleges that Bowyer failed to pay about $31,000 for customization work done on a motorcycle about four years ago. It's seeking the money plus 18 percent annual interest, along with attorney and court fees.

The Daily Republic reports that Bowyer says he repaid the debt through promotional services. He also says the court in South Dakota's Davison County has no jurisdiction over him. He says his agreement with Klock Werks was made in Arizona, the motorcycle was purchased in Minnesota, and it was delivered to him in North Carolina.
