Minnesota's walleye season got off to a cold start on Saturday as the temperatures were in the 20's-30's across the state.

As anglers took to the rivers and lakes across Minnesota some were even greeted with some snow flurries in some parts of the state.

The weather and cold temps didn't keep Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton from participating in the 69th annual Governor's Fishing Opener on Big Sandy Lake.

According to the Star Tribune, DNR officials estimate that about 500,000 fisherman will fish on a typical opening weekend with decent weather and what is even more astonishing is that the agency estimates that $1.58 billion is spent every single year on fishing in the state of Minnesota.

I would say that is some BIG business!
