There was a stretch during the 2016-2017 NHL season that many were thinking this was the year the Stanley Cup would head to Minnesota as the Wild were as hot as any team.

That success was sustained at times, but it wasn't enough to capture Lord Stanley's Cup.

This off-season, the Wild are looking to keep eight players that were a part of the run a season ago as they have offered those players qualifying offers.

Those players include two key pieces in Mikael Granlund and Nino Niederreiter.

According to ESPN, four of the other players included Kurtis Gabriel, Zach Mitchell, Gustav Olofsson and Mike Reilly.
