The 52-year tradition is coming to an end. Mankato will no longer host Minnesota Vikings training camp following this year.

This comes as no surprise to those that follow the Vikings. Minnesota is in the process of building a brand new, state-of-the-art training center in Eagan, Minnesota. Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center is scheduled to open in March, 2018.

Minnesota will celebrate its time spent in Mankato this training camp with a few extra fan giveaways. Those include a new annual scholarship to a student in Blue Earth County, Minnesota, a commemorative poster and playbook for all fans that attend training camp, and a community "thank you" event on August 7th.

The team also says that they intend to keep future training camp practices at the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center open to the public.
