The Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota State University, Mankato have reached agreement on a three-year contract for the Vikings to continue holding training camp in Mankato.

The agreement means the Vikings will be in Mankato for at least the 2013, 2014 and 2015 training camps, with 2015 marking the Vikings 50th in Mankato.

In a press release, Vikings Owner/President Mark Wilf said:

Being in front of our fans for training camp is a storied team tradition.

We appreciate Minnesota State University, Mankato and the City of Mankato for continuing to welcome the team and Vikings fans, and we look forward to reaching 50 years in Mankato.

The Vikings will report to Mankato Thursday and practice will begin Friday.

Planned events include a Family Football Day, Saturday, August 3, Fan Appreciation Days, Tuesday and Wednesday, August 13-14, and autograph sessions with players on specified days throughout camp.

The 2013 training camp will close Wednesday, August 14.

The Vikings first pre-season game is Friday, August 9, against Houston.
