(AP) - The woman who sang the high background vocals on Elvis Presley's version of "Blue Christmas" has died.

The Nashville Tennessean reports Millie Kirkham died Sunday in Nashville at the age of 91. Kirkham said at a 2012 appearance at the Country Music Hall of Fame Presley told them to just have fun and be silly during the recording session, so she started singing that high "woo" note. She says Presley kept smiling and she did it during the whole song, then they laughed and said it would never be released -- except that it was.

Kirkham also sang backup on Roy Orbison's "It's Over," George Jones' "He Stopped Loving Her Today" and Ferlin Husky's "Gone."

In this video, Millie talks about working with Elvis.
