If you enter the holiday gift-giving season with all the anticipation of a death-row inmate approaching the electric chair, you're certainly not alone. If you feel like you've done, seen and given it all, maybe, just maybe, a new perspective is needed.

How about giving gifts that take up little or no space and can be extremely meaningful to the person you're giving them to? Sound good? It did to me, too. With that in mind, here is a short list of gift ideas from those creative types at PureWow.

  • Give babysitting hours to family or friends with small children -You could either volunteer your own time or pay for their regular sitter
  • Lend your expertise - If your thing is tech, you could help a less tech-savvy friend or family member help setting up their devices. Or you could weed someone's garden, do flowers for a wedding or teach them a craft you love.
  • Repair a beloved possession - Whether it is a photograph, a ring or bracelet, a favorite pair of shoes, or a collectible figurine- -people love their stuff and when it needs repair, most people can't or won't spend the money on themselves to do it and there are all kinds of experts who will do this kind of work.
  • Donate to a cause that means a lot to them - Whatever non-profit or charitable organization they would love to give to, do it in their name, it will mean the world to them.
  • Gift cash the classy way - A gift card or certificate with a personal note is a great present, unless the person you're gifting has an aversion to money!
