Country star Marty Stuart will be appearing at the 2013 South Dakota State Fair Friday night August 30th, as part of a great night of country music that will also feature Country Stars Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Borthers.

This will certainly not be the first time Marty has been to the state. In fact, he married his wife, Country Music Hall of Fame member Connie Smith, on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation on July 8th, 1997.

Why the Pine Ridge Reservation? Marty talked about it not long after his wedding:

"It's where Wounded Knee happened," says Marty, who is part Choctaw Indian. "It's a strong spiritual center. You know, it gets kind of crazy being in the country music business and, every now and then, you need to go back and plant your feet on the ground. You need to remember who made you and why you're here, and that's a great place to do it. I've done the Sweat Ceremony with them. I love that land, and those people are my spiritual brothers and sisters."

Marty will play the State Fair Grandstand at 7:00 P.M. and Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers will hit the stage at 8:30 P.M.
