I have been keeping a close eye on Martin Truex, Jr. all year. And at this point, four races into the ten race postseason, I'm not surprised with what we see.

Truex is leading the points for the championship, and now racks up even another victory. He won Sunday's NASCAR Monster Energy Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

This is his second win of the playoffs and sixth of the season. Truex has been consistent all year long with stage wins, race victories and finishing in the top five 14 times.

At the last race at Dover, the Playoff for the Championship field was narrowed from 16 down to 12. In this Round of 12 win, Truex earns advancement into the Round of 8, which is the next three-race elimination series.

Truex led 97 laps on Sunday and held off the field on a couple of late race restarts. Chase Elliott, who settled for second last race, was runner-up once again, coming in nearly a second behind at the finish line.

Kevin Harvick led the most laps at Charlotte on Sunday and was the race leader on four different occasions, but came in third at the end. Denny Hamlin and Jamie McMurray rounded out the top five. See where your driver finished.

Next up is Talladega Superspeedway Sunday (10/15) beginning at 1:00 PM. See Playoff standings after Charlotte.
