Marion Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Drug Conspiracy

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A South Dakota man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after being convicted of conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine.

Thirty-seven-year-old Larry Wayne Alver, of Marion, pleaded guilty earlier to the conspiracy charge.

U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says Alver bought and distributed methamphetamine. Johnson says Alver also facilitated distribution of methamphetamine by introducing his supplier to another dealer.

The case was investigated by the Sioux Falls Police Department, the state Division of Criminal Investigation and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
