Another incident, this time a stabbing, at Van Eps Park on North Minnesota Avenue has a woman in jail on an aggravated assault charge.

Police were called at 6:19pm Monday, but before they arrived, officers were updated with the suspect's name and that she had been seen running eastbound from the park.

The 51-year-old male victim said he had been jumped from behind by the suspect and his chin was cut.

The victim's injuries were not life-threatening, and after paramedics bandaged him, he refused further treatment and left the park.

The suspect was located in front of a business at 6:42 pm.

Thirty-three-year-old Hazel H. Dupris was arrested for aggravated assault and lodged in the Minnehaha County Jail.
