MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) — A man has admitted in court to stealing a vehicle in Nebraska and crashing it in South Dakota in April.

The Daily Republic reports 43-year-old Elmer Yellow Hair Jr. has pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property and first-offense drunken driving.

Authorities say the Tucson man was driving in Mitchell in April when he crashed a 2009 Subaru Outback into another vehicle. Authorities say Yellow Hair's blood alcohol level when the crash happened was nearly four times the legal limit of 0.08.

Yellow Hair in court said he had been drinking vodka. He says he drove the vehicle off the lot of a Nebraska car sales lot.

A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for July.
