Emergency Crews Deal with Swarms of Flies Looking for Love [VIDEO]

Emergency crews from Iowa and Illinois were called in to clear ankle-deep mayflies on the Savanna-Sabula bridge over the Mississippi River.

Millions of these bugs hatch in the Mississippi River each summer. In their 36-hour life span, the winged creatures emerge from the river hustle to get their mating in then fly back to the water’s, and lay their eggs, and die.

Can't blame the flies for looking for love, but when they infest the bridge they are looking in all the wrong places.
