Loretta Lynn has been forced to postpone the bi-annual trail ride hosted at her ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. due to recently sustained storm damage and a fire that broke out in the commercial kitchen.

Organizers are tabling the event, which was slated for Sept. 2 through 7. in order to deal with the fixes for this double dose of damage. The trails are now under construction. Ranch workers were concerned about the safety of the guests and campers, so they were forced to make the unfortunate decision to cancel the popular event in 2013.

No one is more disappointed about the postponement than the country legend herself, but it's safety first.

"I hate to cancel this ride," Lynn says in a press release. "This is one of my favorite things we do at the ranch but Mother Nature sure dealt us a big blow with the recent storm and then we had the fire and it really set us back."

She continues, "We are trying to make sure everyone is safe and that's our main concern. We sure hope to have everything back in order soon for more trail rides. I've been putting on the big organized trail rides for 30 years now and I ain't about to stop ... we just need a little more time."

Patrons should note that officially, the trail ride is postponed, not canceled, which is the good news here. Mother Nature and an outbreak of the elements aren't about to stop this country diva or her time-honored event in their tracks completely.

Organizers will announce the new date once it's decided upon.

Kacey Musgraves is on the books to perform at the ranch on Aug. 30. That show will go on as planned.
